Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Shah Engineering collects through this website, our billing app and our WhatsApp business number, why we collect it, where it is kept and how you can ask us to delete it.

Who we are

What we collect and why

• Get a quote form: your name, phone number, the machine you need, site location, dates and your message. We use them only to reply to you with a quote.
• Spares orders: your name, phone number, the part and quantity, pickup or delivery, your delivery address and any note. We use them to confirm the order with you, deliver it and make the GST invoice. No payment details are collected on this website.
• Spam protection: with each form we keep a one-way scrambled code made from your connection and the date, so we can limit repeated submissions. We do not store your IP address.
• Customers: if you buy from us, we keep the details needed for GST invoices, quotations, receipts and statements (name, company, GSTIN, address, phone and email), and we may send those documents to you by email or WhatsApp.
• WhatsApp: our WhatsApp business number is used by our own staff, from phone numbers we have authorised, to run our billing. We keep a log of those messages and of what was done. If anyone else sends a message to it, we keep their number and message in the same log and send one reply with our phone number; nothing else is done with it.

What we don’t do

• We do not sell or rent your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
• This website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. Our billing app uses a sign-in cookie for our own staff only.

Where it is kept, and who helps us

• Our database and files are stored with Supabase in its Mumbai (India) region.
• The website and billing app run on Vercel, using its Mumbai (India) servers.
• WhatsApp messages go through Meta’s WhatsApp Business Platform.
• Emails with our documents are sent from our Gmail account (Google).

These companies process the information only to provide their service to us, under their own terms.

How long we keep it

• Enquiries, spares orders and WhatsApp messages: until we no longer need them for the enquiry, order or our records, or until you ask us to delete them.
• Invoices, receipts and accounts: as long as Indian GST law requires us to keep them (at least 72 months, under section 36 of the CGST Act).

Your choices

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete the information we hold about you by email or phone (details above). We will delete your enquiries, orders and messages. Invoices and accounts we must keep by law, but we will not use them for anything else.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it on this page and change the date at the top.
